The coverage expansion will benefit all companies exporting goods to Germany, Europe’s largest express delivery market and TNT’s number one destination for international deliveries.
The upgrade will allow the company’s customers to reach 10 percent of the German territory one day faster. It represents a doubling of the number of locations that can be reached before noon.
TNT is thus responding to demand for fast and reliable delivery services, with greater control over the delivery time. The improvements will help SMEs and large companies in industries such as automotive, industrial, high tech, healthcare and lifestyle optimise their supply chains and service the German market and their end customers more efficiently.
In the automotive sector, for example, spare parts delivered before 12:00 can be used for repair work that afternoon.
"Improving service to customers is central to TNT’s Outlook strategy. We are determined to increase the reach and efficiency of our international express delivery service in Europe, starting with our number one destination, Germany," says Ian Clough, Managing Director, TNT International Europe.
The upgrade builds on several operational improvements made by TNT in recent months, including investments in its European Road Network and air hub in Liege. In November 2014, TNT began a new daily overnight flight between Liege and Hanover. Other network upgrades, such as changes to road delivery operations, depot connectivity and operational processes were also implemented across the country.
